The bassoon is a fabulous instrument to learn! It is classed as an endangered species as it is not such an obvious choice for most students. As a child I had my heart set on learning the flute but I am so glad I got chosen to learn the bassoon instead. I have had so many amazing playing opportunities over the years that I may not otherwise have had. I was fortunate enough to study at the Royal Academy of Music and also be able to travel around the world with my music.
I have been teaching the instrument for over fifteen years both privately, in schools and in music services. Several of my pupils have gone on to gain music scholarships to the secondary school of their choice.
If you would like to find out more or have a chat about the instrument, I would be more than happy to speak with you.
I am a strong believer that everyone should be able to have a life of music and learning the piano is a great place to start! I learnt the piano alongside my bassoon studies and have taught beginner piano to students in various settings and capacities since leaving music college. Over the years I have taught individuals and group lessons at Downsend School, Harris Primary Academy Kenley, Croydon Music and Arts, Hackney Music Service, West Wickham School of Music as well as one to one lessons privately.
I have experience teaching the piano from aged 5 years through to 75!
